Day 3 ! Early Rise & Grind

44c7b99f-a3da-41dd-8721-5bd3dbc9e286wallpaperHelllooo everyone, today was an EARLY day. I’m currently at work just waiting for the next transport. I was up around 4:30AM, got to work 5:15AM and now it’s 8:20AM lol… BORING, but hey… we gotta do, what we gotta doooo!

photo-3Well, after our first transport I ordered an Ice Coffee with Cream & Sugar (yikes!). I was too afraid to go black because I wasn’t sure if i’d like it or not. I like hot black coffee though. Eh whatever, I can’t wait for breakfast though, i’m starving! I’m thinking egg whites with tomato, lettuce and mozzarella on multigrain toast. ahhh excited!

So today is, I believe Cardio & Resistance training for INSANITY. I’m going straight to doing that afterwork. Woop woop! Then I’m feeling sushi later with my sister and her boyfriend. Ah man, can NEVER go wrong with sushi… and then dinner is just gonna be a protein shake.

proteinThis is what I have, it’s actually pretty tasty. If I use it as a meal replacement like I will today, than I add 8oz of low fat milk and 1 scoop of protein powder, if it’s a snack/post-workout drink then I just use water with 2 scoops of protein powder. And my favorite bottle ever! The Blender Bottle! Best investment ever! :]

Well, I really have nothing else to talk about… Today is just an early day. Oh, but I do have a healthy recipe to share! I think I’m going to make a batch tonight to eat tomorrow and friday for lunch :] Try it out!
Quinoa Turkey With Feta and Sundried Tomatoes
Cook quinoa as per packet instructions. Make turkey burgers with turkey minced, diced onions and garlic, freshly chopped parsley and coriander, cumin, salt and pepper. Drizzle the olive oil from marinated feta and olive jars over the quinoa and break up the turkey burgers, combining them with the quinoa. Add lemon juice and combine sundried tomatoes and olives.

Day 2! Plyometric cardio & yummy Chipotle dindin

ImageSo to the left would be pre-work out and to the right would be post-workout lol… Man, I was DRIPPING IN SWEAT.

So last night I had the overnight Ambulance shift and had NO SLEEEEP 😦 It was terrible. I got home around 730am and passed out. I officially got off my bed at 4pm. I wasted my whole day!! AHHH, but it’s alright… Got up, got my work out clothes on and did INSANITY!

I burned 460 calories ! I thought it would be more with how hard I worked but oh well.

After that I was hungry so I ran to Chipotle, was really craving it.  I got the bowl, brown rice, black beans, tomatoes, lettuce and some cheese.. or and (don’t judge) sour cream.. haha, its so good!!! lol and then I had sparkling blackberry juice.

Now if i was following my 8 hour feast schedule like normal, I wouldn’t have gotten all that… would be like a small taco but since it’s already past 6pm and i’m not supposed to be eating anymore, I went a little more than usual on my meal. I’m satisfied =] and it worth totally worth it, haha.

Well, that was pretty much my boring, boring day. Sleep, work out, eat and now i’m just gonna chill and watch TV in my room. I have to up at 4:15 AM tomorrow for work 😦 ugh… So early bedtime for me! Hope you all had a great day ;]

day 35! down 4 pounds!

Lost 4 pounds!! LOL, but I had gained like 5 pounds from the beginning of this blog… but still!! I was very happy to see that.. means what I’m doing is working!

Today I went on a sushi date with Emily! I love this girl, we only hang out once in awhile when she’s home from school and we do is go out to eat and we ALWAYS call them dates. Usually we go all out at Olive Garden but today, we treated ourselves to Sushi. She showed me a place in her town called Ocean Sushi.. really good!
I had:

Miso Soup –   70 calories
Shrimp Roll- 240 calories
Tuna Roll-    184 calories
Total-            494 calories

Each roll was 8 pieces so I was very content at the en of my meal… wasn’t stuffed. And it was cheap! 10 bux! a lunch special lol

I haven’t hit the gym yet, I’m planning to do a class at 5:30 called bodypump… its strength training and then following that class at 6:30 is Zumba!!  So, i’m going to be getting a good 2 hours in the gym later. Then tonight I’m thinking just staying in with some tea and watch Disney movies or something lol. low key day.

day 33!!!

SSOOO, went to the gym today and did a Body Combat class for an hour. It was fun! Had a good sweat… I like the classes :] I’m hoping to do Zumba tonight at 7:30… hopefully I get out of work a little earlier… probably not haha.

I’m actually working today! Finally.. and making money :] i’m so so broke haha…

Anyway, after the gym I had CRUMPETS. BLUEBERRY CRUMPETS. I don’t know where my mom found crumpets but there they were in the fridge.

Today is the day ! I’m counting calories..so:

2 Blueberry Crumpets- 140 calories
1 Cup 2% Milk-             130 calories
Total Calories :              270 calories

I’m using an app called MyPlate Calorie Tracker, supported by Livestrong.com
I have had this app for awhile and it’s great! You can document your exercise, water intake and what you eat! Does the job… check it out =]

Now I’m gonna take a little nap :] head to work! Now we all know m challenges at work… well no excuses today! NONE.



Dayy 17- success ! + a cookie

Soooo first and foremost !
I got a 92 on my final today *bowing* thank you thank you lol

Breakfast was a Granny Smith apple and tea– wasn’t hungry but I knew I had to eat something.

Lunch was beans and whole wheat tortillas again, was craving it lol

I was craving sweets sooo bad so I had mango !! And I think black berries with whip cream (only a little whip cream)

Dinner was at work today, the mom made pork, mash potatoes and salad so that was my dinner. Good shit, I think I ate too much of though.

Portion control ! Fuuuuck you lol

I went for a short jog today, about 30 minutes. Was nice, nice stress reliever with music pumping in the ears.

Oh yeah, I had a candy cane too– classmate of mine gave us a penlight with a candy cane for Christmas. Couldn’t resist !

Isn’t it so cute !! Lol

I know… Slap on the wrist.

And now I’m jut watching television With the kiddies. And I ate a damn cookie with milk…

but you know what? It’s okay, I exercised, I ate healthy for 90% of my day. That’s it for the rest of night… No more food ! Haha
Just tea– did I mention I love tea??

I’m proud of today, I feel a difference with these simple changes I’m making, and I’m understanding what foods make me feel bloated and not. Eating this one cookie gave me a real belly ache believe it or not ! Mango earlier hit the sweet spot.

I just have to constantly remind myself before I put food in my mouth is will this make me feel good? Or bad?

Simple changes everyday. I know one of these days I’ll have it down pat ;]

Night kiddies !

day 9

got up early today!
Wasn’t really hungry so all i ate was:
Oikios Vanilla Fat Free Yogurt.
GOOD STUFF, full of protein

I went for a nice 1 mile long jog, took it nice and relaxed. I felt great!

Then by 12pm, headed out to the school library to study. So far, so good.

Around 4:00pm, I started to feel the hunger. I ended buying for lunch/dinner:
Panera Bread You Pick Two Combo (bad choice?)
chicken noodle soup with bread & caesar salad

I didn’t feel to bad about it. But then I thought, well i guess I could have gone with out the bread an chose an apple. That’s one, and then the caesar salad… next time no croutons?

It’s funny because little changes like that can make a HUGE difference.

After my meal, I met up with a friend, then headed home and relaxed. Around 8pm, I went for ambulance driver training and now I’m back home.

I just had a glass of water and an orange.

Overall, today was a good day :]

day 1

I woke up today nervous and motivated at 9am. I got up and grabbed a little notebook and started to plan my morning. I weighed myself. 178.9 pounds. I ate a banana, and started to dress for the gym. My plan: stretch for about 5 minutes. Work out focusing on my arms. Triathlon training, and then ending my gym experience with zumba. I was thinking about how hard this was going to be, my struggle… And then I said I myself over and over. I can do it ! I know I can.

So I arrive to the gym and head straight to the stretch ! Done 🙂
Next was the arm workout, now I have no clue how to make a strength workout so I turned to the machines. I did:
Bicep curls, 20lbs, 3 sets of 15
Triceps extensions, 20/25/30lbs, 3 sets of 15
Bicep curls, level 2, 3 sets of 15/12/10
Seated dips, level 2, 3 sets of 15/12/10
Lateral raises, 20 lbs, 3 sets of 15

Not bad i think lol, I’m sure I’ll feel it in the morning since I have NO upper body strength.

So about 2 months ago I signed up for my gym’s indoor triathlon. I figured this would motivate me to work out and it did ! Temporarily. Then I stopped and now I have to start over and the race is in a month ! Ugh– so I already had a work out planned and today (had I continued my training) would be a 40 minute run, broken down into 9 minute warm up, 5 minute jog, 1 min walk for the remainder of the time. gulp so I went off to the treadmill. I did the warm up fine, and then came the 5 minute jog… It got hard. 😦 I can’t believe I can’t even jog for five minutes. I stopped and now I’m sitting by the room where zumba is about to start. My total time on the treadmill was 15 minutes and 32 seconds. Alright, so I’m not gonna beat myself up over this, tomorrow I’ll go for 20. I am working on trying to tell myself it’s only the beginning and it only can get easier. I’m actually smiling on that thought. Now I’m just waiting for zumba. I love this class, it’s tons of fun and you work up a sweat ! I’ll keep you posted on the rest of my day 🙂
